In the near future Ukraine will close the sea ports of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, namely Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Yalta and Evpatoria. This decision has been made due to the temporary occupation of this inalienable part of the Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation.

In this regard, the following legal acts have adopted by the state authorities:

  • Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Certain issues on functioning of the sea and river transport 578- dated 30.04.2014; and
  • Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine On closing of the seaports 255 of 16.06.2014, registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on 06.24.2014, 690/25467.

In accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine "On closing seaports" Crimean ports will be opened only after the restoration of the constitutional order of Ukraine in Crimea.

Decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine "On closing seaports" currently has not yet entered into force. This will happen after its official publication.
